Biography / Experience

Malcolm provides advice to pension and investment clients in respect of accumulating wealth tax efficiently as well as specific retirement, trust and inheritance tax solutions.

Examples Include

Malcolm recently advised on an “in-specie” transfer of a commercial property from a Capped Drawdown SIPP to a Flexible Drawdown SIPP in order for the client to access more than twice the amount of retirement income.

Malcolm has assisted a client in poor health in restructuring a substantial investment portfolio more tax efficiently to mitigate a potentially large Inheritance Tax liability.

Malcolm advised a client who utilised a commercial property as an “in-specie” pension contribution to a SIPP by opening and closing pension input periods effectively to ensure HMRC Pension Allowance limits were not exceeded.

Personal Interests

Malcolm tries to keep fit by going to the gym, playing tennis and walking the border collie. He is a “closet” Birminghan City fan and relaxes at home by reading and listening to music.
