Congratulations to our lead Mortgage Adviser, Debbie Lavender, on passing her PFS approved Certificate in Equity Release (CerER). She is now authorised to give advice in this rapidly changing area of financial planning. There has been a rapid move away from the old-style, very expensive equity release products in the market. Gone are the days when this was a last resort for retirees who were short of income. It is now a modern product that offers a number of different solutions and repayment methods that make it a much more attractive route, particularly for Inheritance Tax planning for those with high value homes but limited liquid assets to invest. Debbie can advise on stand-alone equity release queries for clients or work alongside EWM’s Wealth Planning advisers on more complex planning needs.
